Encouragement
Encouragement
Students do not thrive in an atmosphere of fear and criticism. Though they need guidance and correction, I provide these in a positive and encouraging way.
Structure and Discipline
Structure and Discipline
No one progresses in a skill without structured practice. It is essential for students to know how to organize practice time and complete exercises that help develop the proper technique.
Direction
Direction
Student progress needs to be monitored so that their aspirations may be accomplished. I will keep in mind their personal goals and what is left for them to do to achieve their dream.
Enjoyment
Enjoyment
Though working at something is not always enjoyable, the teacher must exemplify that music is fun and be able to inspire the student to appreciate the art.
Of course, it is always more fun to play a musical instrument at a higher level! For this reason, the teacher must instruct in a way that develops the student’s skill and appreciation for the push to be better.
